Manitoba province in Canada conducted a new draw for permanent residency (PR) on March 23. A total of 566 applicants were invited under three different categories.

The first category, Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM),
included an occupation-specific selection. 266 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were sent to profiles with a score of 612 or above who work in jobs belonging to the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 major group 72, 74, 75, 94, 95.
An additional 200 profiles with a score of 672 were invited under the SWM stream, regardless of their occupation.
Similar to Ontario’s skilled trade stream, in this draw, Manitoba concentrated on candidates who have skilled trade work experience to be invited.

The second category, International Education Stream (IES), granted 52 LAAs to Manitoba graduates.
This stream does not need any scores and eligible candidates may apply directly for the nomination.

The third category, Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO), considered only profiles that were part of a Strategic Recruiting Plan or had a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
48 LAAs were awarded to candidates with a score of 708 or above under the MPNP Strategic Recruiting Program.

The Manitoba Strategic Recruitment Initiative allows the province to nominate qualified persons for immigration. Strategic Recruitment Initiatives are based on the discretion of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program with attention paid to program needs and available resources.

Out of the 566 LAAs, 82 candidates had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
