Prince Edward Island held its latest draw on November 19, where 254 invitations were issued. 221 of these invitations went to Express Entry and Labour Impact Candidates, and Business Impact Candidates took the remaining 33.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is where Canadian Provinces and Territories select candidates based on their ‘Labour Market Needs’. The PNP has also been known to sometimes situate itself with the Canadian Federal Express Entry System.
The Prince Edward Island PNP (PEI PNP) is an enhanced version of the PNP, meaning that it works within the Canadian Federal Express Entry System. The Express Entry manages three categories:
Applicants who are eligible, will be given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is basically a score/number for your age, work experience, education and language proficiency in English & French. Furthermore, Express Entry Applicants who receive a Provincial Nomination are awarded an additional 600 CRS score, which pretty much guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent Residence in Canada in the upcoming draw.
To apply or to be considered for a provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island, any interested Express Entry Applicant will need to create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP. EOI Profiles are awarded points based on each province’s unique point grid system. The applicant with the highest score is invited to apply through the monthly draws.
Earlier two categories, Labour Impact and Business Impact Category were mentioned in respect to the PEI’s Invitations issued this month.
The Labour Impact Category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer and employer support in Prince Edward Island. This is furthermore divided into three streams:
Applicants in this category have to submit an EOI profile to be considered for a provincial nomination through this category.
The Business Impact Category is for Foreign Entrepreneurs who want to own and operate a business in Prince Edward Island.
The 33 invitations issued this month under business impact category required applicants to have a minimum EOI score of 92 and these invitations were issued under the work permit stream.
