Starting March 5, 2025, New Brunswick is accepting new applications for immigration under the New Brunswick Express Entry system. If you’re interested in moving to New Brunswick, Canada, this could be your opportunity!

Who Can Apply?

There are two main pathways under the New Brunswick Express Entry stream:

  1. Employment in New Brunswick Pathway – For people who have a job or job offer in New Brunswick.
  2. New Brunswick Interests Pathway – For people who have skills or qualifications that the province needs.

Who Cannot Apply? (Restricted Job List)

Right now, some occupations are NOT eligible for this program. If your job is on this list, you will not be considered:

  • Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 12200)
  • Administrative assistants (NOC 13110)
  • Retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 60020)
  • Restaurant and food service managers (NOC 60030)
  • Retail sales supervisors (NOC 62010)
  • Food service supervisors (NOC 62020)
  • Cooks (NOC 63200)
  • Bakers (NOC 63202)

Important Update for Students

The New Brunswick Student Connection pathway is not available in 2025. But don’t worry! If you are a New Brunswick graduate with a job or job offer, you can still apply under:

  • The Employment Pathway (New Brunswick Express Entry)
  • The New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream
  • The New Brunswick Strategic Initiative stream (for French-speaking applicants)
  • The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

How Are Applications Selected?

  • The process is NOT first-come, first-served.
  • When you submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) in the INB portal, it will go into a pool.
  • Your EOI is valid for 365 days.
  • Immigration New Brunswick will review applications and send Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to selected applicants in scheduled draws starting in April 2025.

Before You Apply – Important Reminders

Check your eligibility: Requirements have changed for 2025. Make sure you meet all conditions before applying.
Understand the NOC restrictions: If your job is on the restricted list, you will not be eligible.
Be patient: Just because you submit an EOI does not mean you will get an ITA right away.

FAQs – Common Questions Answered!

What is an Expression of Interest (EOI)?
🔹 It’s a way to tell the New Brunswick government that you want to immigrate. You submit your details, and if selected, you will be invited to apply for permanent residency.

Do I need a job offer to apply?
🔹 It depends! If you apply through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway, you need a job offer. But if you qualify under the New Brunswick Interests pathway, you may not need one.

How long does the process take?
🔹 Your EOI stays valid for one year (365 days). If selected, the full process can take several months, depending on how quickly you submit your documents.

Can students apply for this program?
🔹 The New Brunswick Student Connection pathway is not available in 2025. However, if you graduate from a New Brunswick institution and have a job offer, you can apply under other streams.

What happens if I don’t get selected?
🔹 If you don’t receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) within one year, your EOI will expire. You can submit a new one if you still qualify.

Final Tip: Immigration rules change often! Make sure to check for updates and confirm that you meet all the latest requirements before applying.
