A diverse group of professionals discussing New Brunswick Immigration opportunities under the new PNP pathways.

Starting March 5, 2025, New Brunswick has reopened applications for two immigration pathways under its Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP). If you’re looking to move to New Brunswick, this could be your chance!

The two available pathways are:

  1. Employment in New Brunswick Pathway – For candidates already working full-time in the province.
  2. New Brunswick Interests Pathway – For candidates who receive a Letter of Interest from Immigration NB.

However, some jobs are not eligible under these pathways (see the table below).

What’s New?

New Brunswick has made some important changes to eligibility rules:

Lower Age Limit: Now, applicants as young as 19 years old can apply (previously 22).
Work Experience Required: If applying through the Employment in New Brunswick Pathway, you must have at least 12 months of continuous full-time work experience in the province.
Higher Residency Requirement: Candidates must now demonstrate a stronger commitment to living and working in New Brunswick.

Unlike some programs, applications will not be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, New Brunswick will prioritize candidates based on eligibility and the province’s needs.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for either pathway, you must meet the following basic requirements:

✔️ Have a valid Express Entry profile
✔️ Demonstrate English or French proficiency (CLB/NCLC level 7 in all 4 abilities)
✔️ Meet the federal proof of funds requirement (if not exempt)
✔️ Have at least a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent
✔️ Plan to live and work permanently in New Brunswick
✔️ Be between the ages of 19 and 55
✔️ Score at least 67 points on New Brunswick’s selection grid
✔️ Have a job in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation (as per Canada’s NOC system)

🔹 No, for the New Brunswick Interests Pathway, but you must receive a Letter of Interest from Immigration NB first.

2. What is a Letter of Interest?

🔹 This is an official notification from Immigration NB sent to candidates in the federal Express Entry system. It means the province is interested in your profile.

3. How can I improve my chances of getting selected?

🔹 Improve your language test scores (aim for CLB/NCLC 7+).
🔹 Get more work experience in a high-demand occupation.
🔹 Make sure you meet proof of funds requirements.
