The Government of Canada has invited more candidates to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a draw specifically for candidates who were nominated by a Canadian province through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Latest Express Entry Draw – March 3, 2025

  • Total Invitations Issued: 725
  • Minimum CRS Score Required: 667
  • Profile Creation Deadline: Before 6:25 pm UTC on June 5, 2024

This draw follows several other rounds in 2025, where IRCC focused on inviting candidates from French-language proficiency, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) categories. Since the start of February, over 11,000 invitations have been issued.

What to Do If You Receive an ITA?

If you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you need to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) within 60 days. Here’s a simple breakdown of the required documents.

Essential Documents for PR Application:

  • Passport: A clear copy of your valid passport.
  • Birth Certificate: Proof of your date of birth.
  • Language Test Results: Official test scores from IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF.
  • Work Experience Documents: Reference letters, employment contracts, or pay stubs.
  • Police Clearance Certificate: If you have lived in a country for more than six months since turning 18.
  • Medical Exam Receipt: If required.
  • Photographs: Recent, regulation-sized photos for yourself and accompanying family members.

Additional Documents (If Applicable):

Depending on your Express Entry profile, you may also need:

  • Education Credential Assessment (ECA): If you studied outside Canada.
  • Job Offer Letter: If you have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
  • Proof of Family in Canada: If you have relatives who are Canadian citizens or PR holders.
  • Proof of Funds: To show you can financially support yourself and your family in Canada.
  • Marriage, Divorce, or Death Certificates: If applicable.
  • Legal Name Change Documents: If your name has changed legally.
  • Skilled Trade Qualification Certificate: If you are applying under a skilled trade category.

1. What is Express Entry? Express Entry is an online system used by the Canadian government to manage applications for permanent residency under three main programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

2. What is a CRS score? The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) assigns points to candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills, and job offers.

3. What is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)? PNP allows Canadian provinces to nominate candidates for Express Entry based on their specific labor market needs. If you receive a nomination, you get 600 additional CRS points, significantly increasing your chances of receiving an ITA.

4. How long does the PR process take after receiving an ITA? Once you submit a complete PR application, it usually takes 6 months for IRCC to process it.

5. Can I update my Express Entry profile after submission? Yes! If your circumstances change (e.g., higher language scores, job offers, additional education), you can update your profile before receiving an ITA.

6. What happens if my ITA expires? If you fail to submit your PR application within 60 days, your ITA will expire. You will need to re-enter the Express Entry pool and wait for another invitation.
